Broadway in McAllen announces the 2022-23 season

Broadway in McAllen will bring the Best of Touring Broadway direct from New York, including for the first time ever, the nine-time Tony Award Winning Best Musical The Book of Mormon, the fantastic holiday performances of Postmodern Jukebox’s A Very Postmodern Christmas, the entertaining new musical On Your Feet, the incredible spectacular The Illusionists Magic of the Holidays, and the acrobatic wonders of Cirque Dreams Holidaze.

20221019 fiesta de palmas web The 16th Annual 2022 Fiesta de Palmas is set for this weekend, October 21st through 23rd, and promises to be the biggest Fiesta yet.

The event is to be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the McAllen Convention Center and will feature a hefty line up of live music, carnival rides, diverse foods, and interactive activities.

Movies at the Lighthouse

Movies at Lighthouse The Port Isabel is bringing back a tradition that was started in 2004 – Movies at the Lighthouse. Movies will be projected on the side of the historical Port Isabel Lighthouse. No admission fee, Concessions will be available. The lighthouse will be open until 9 p.m. for tours (tours do have an admission). Movies start at 9 p.m.

Tourist Day in Nuevo Progreso, Mexico was a “breeze” for Winter Texans attending the all-day appreciation of visitors’ celebration on March 21.

Despite the strong gusts of wind, Winter Texans enjoyed the entertainment, the trinkets, and the food, which included free tamales as the visitors came across the international bridge over the Rio Grande River.

They ate, drank and were entertained – or entertaining - as the much-loved onion, known as the “million-dollar baby” took center stage at the annual festival that returned after a COVID-19 pandemic halt.

Art Walk kicks off Irish Fest

The exhibit is a multimedia and interactive art experience created by a team of Rio Grande Valley artists in all types of mediums, from classic acrylic on canvas to textural projections, photography, and guided storytelling.
