Edinburg Parks and Recreation is hosting the 9th Annual Cardboard Regatta competition, which promises to be an exhilarating experience for participants and spectators alike. This unique event will take place on Friday, March 14 at 6 p.m. at the Edinburg Municipal Pool and aims to bring the community together for an evening filled with fun, teamwork, and friendly competition.

Set to take place on Saturday, March 8, from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. in front of the Arts, Culture & Events Center (315 W. McIntyre St.), this beloved festival honors the spirit of Frida Kahlo while celebrating creativity, wellness, and the strength of womanhood.

Mission Chamber thanks Winter Texans with annual Fiesta

20240301 Mission Winter Texan Fiesta WAB 0088 webJoin the Mission Chamber of Commerce on March 7, starting at noon (doors open at 11 a.m.) at the Leo Pena Placita Park in Mission, for an afternoon filled with fun, laughter, and celebration.

The chamber invites you to be a part of this vibrant celebration of our Winter Texan residents. The Winter Texan Fiesta promises to be a day filled with live music, diverse vendors, and complimentary food for the first 1,000 attendees. Must be there early to collect food vouchers. Bring your own lawn chair for extra seating.

Entertainment this year includes Bruce Boudreau, The Night Howlers, Mariachi Nuevo Cascabel, and Quentin Flagg.

Wintertainers™ gather for benefit concert

20180104 Country Rusty Rierson webThree male vocalists are getting together to perform a free Country Gospel Benefit Concert next weekend. The Wintertainers™ will be performing to raise funds for the His Hands Ministries in Penitas. The men performing will be Curt James, Rick McEwen and Rusty Rierson.

They will be performing on Friday, March 7 from 1 to 3 p.m. A will offering will be taken for the organization. Attendees should bring their own lawn chairs to enjoy the show. Ice cream and cake will be available after the show. The event will be held at His Hands Ministries at 17214 Salida Del Sol St. in Penitas.

Dance was the theme for MWE concert

Celebrate Texas Independence Day

20220305 Alamo Texas Independence Day HMoering DSC 1037 webTexas celebrates their Independence Day on March 2. It is the day Texas adopted the Texas Declaration of Independence in 1836. The document was signed by 59 delegates and it officially declared independence from Mexico and created the Republic of Texas.

In San Antonio, you can find events being held from February 23 through Thursday, March 6. These events honor the 13-day siege leading up to the Alamo. They bring the Alamo’s unique story to life, inspire visitors, and honor all those who lived, fought, and died at the Alamo.
