Due to inclement weather the City of Mission rescheduled their Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremonies. Originally to be held on Friday, November 18, the events have been rescheduled for December 1st and 2nd.
Ring in the season with Mayor Norie Gonzalez Garza and Mission city leaders. The City of Mission will kick off the holiday season with the Mayor’s Annual Tree Lighting and this year, the celebration will run for two days.
The public is invited to Leo Pena Placita Park on Friday, December 1 and Saturday December 2, for a free event for the entire family. A special tree lighting will highlight the holiday spectacular on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
The two-day event will also include mariachi music, conjunto performances, life-sized Christmas cards for selfies, live music, games, food and craft vendors, toy raffles and plenty of entertainment. There will also be a special presentation by Mission Parks and Recreation Ballet Folklorico dancers and the New Variety Band will close out the evening entertainment on Saturday night.
