flowers webSouth Padre Island has a new art gallery, The Art Lounge, and it will be hosting an exhibition called Bloom. The exhibit will take place on April 8, from 3 to 5:30 p.m.

The high-end art gallery is turning one-year-old and they are giving the community flowers to celebrate. They are turning the gallery into a garden party for the art opening. Just in time to be held the Saturday before Easter.

This is a free event with fine art, live classical cello music, libations, finger sandwiches and pastries. Organizers are encouraging attendees to dress in their best florals for the show. They also plan to have a floral installation on the ceiling to look like flowers raining down and a floral selfie wall.

Owners say the gallery is quite unexpected with its dramatic black walls, chain chandeliers, and a nod to the art deco era, especially hidden like a speakeasy in the old Sea Ranch Marina boat barn.

Their first year brought artists and musicians from all over the world and offers something unique to the area. The gallery also has the SpaceX astronaut who was the first artist to paint in space showing in the gallery. The artist plans to do a book signing the week leading up to the new exhibit.

There will be 14 artists showing during the Bloom exhibition.

The gallery is located at 33256 State Park Rd 100 #102. Call (956) 433-5307 or email info@theartloungespi.com for more information. Their website is theartloungespi.com. They can also be found on Facebook. Announcements for all of their workshops can be found on their website and Facebook.
