The Valley Symphony Orchestra (VSO) invites audiences across the Rio Grande Valley to experience an epic weekend of cinematic music with Star Wars + Four Hands, presented in two separate concerts in two different cities: Friday, February 6, at the McAllen Performing Arts Center, and Saturday, February 7, at the TSC Performing Arts Center in Brownsville.
Led by Music Director and Conductor Maestro Peter Dabrowski, the program features the iconic Star Wars Suite along with beloved themes from Mission: Impossible, Jurassic Park, and The Pink Panther. The concerts will also showcase the North American premiere of a dazzling four-hand piano concerto by Bogdanov, performed by celebrated piano soloists Haysun Kang and Christopher Guzman. Bogdanov will be in attendance for these special performances.
As the VSO continues its celebration of Maestro Dabrowski’s 25th Anniversary as Conductor and Music Director, this two-city weekend reflects the orchestra’s long-standing mission of bringing world-class symphonic music to communities throughout the Rio Grande Valley.
“Symphonic music belongs to everyone in our region,” said VSO Executive Director David Lobel. “By offering performances in multiple cities, we are able to connect with audiences across the Valley and ensure more families have access to professional orchestral music, right here at home.”
For decades, the VSO has expanded its cultural footprint across the Valley, presenting concerts throughout the region and cultivating a strong community tradition of live orchestral music. This two-night celebration in McAllen and Brownsville exemplifies that commitment by making a major Masterworks program accessible to audiences across the entire Rio Grande Valley.
