It’s time to show your activity director some love. March 1 each year has been designated as Activity Appreciation Day, but this year we will celebrate on Monday, March 2.

The Rio Grande Valley Activity Directors Association (RGVADA) will host an Appreciation Party for area activity directors at Mission Bell ballroom beginning at 11 a.m. on March 2. Lunch will be provided along with door prizes and entertainment.

Invitations have been mailed to the parks, but if your park did not get one, please call Billie Ferguson at (865) 253-2514 or email at billieraeg@gmail.com so you can be added to the list. All activity directors are invited, but you do need to RSVP. You can RSVP at rgvada.org or by calling or emailing Billie Ferguson.

How are you going to honor your Activity Director? We have an opportunity for parks, entertainers and local businesses. If you would like to have a table at this event, contact Billie and she’ll get you all set up.

Remember, your activity director is the heart of your park. While most of us are attending happy hours, swimming or looking for a new place to eat, they are busy keeping everything on an even keel. They work many, many hours that nobody realizes. Take some time to tell them they are loved and appreciated.
