Join Bentsen Grove Rock Club for a fantastic Year of Bling Rock Show on February 7, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. This is their 45th anniversary and the featured rock will be crystals. The event is free.
They will have all kinds of rocks, gems, minerals, fossils and jewelry related items. There will also be great door prizes. You do not need to be present to win. Raffle tickets will be available for fantastic items including fine jewelry.
You will be able to watch experts work on lapidary and rock related arts. See how a rock becomes a piece of jewelry or sculpture. You can learn how rocks specimens are identified. Be sure to explore competitive and non-competitive displays of specimen collections and lapidary craftsmanship from special guests, dealers, and club members.
There will be lots of displays including an exhibit from Nick Morales who is a geologist of South Texas and Northern Mexico specializing in mineralogy and local geology.
Be sure to participate in the fantastic silent auction. You can bid on a world of minerals and sundry items including cabachons, clocks, jewelry and all kinds of great items.
Join them for the show in the Huddleston Hall at 1645 South Bentsen Palm Dr., Palmview, from 8 to 12 p.m. Breakfast and lunch will be available for purchase.
