Another performer for the Valley Star Awards is Jamie Layton. Jamie Layton has a distinctive low voice – you can’t miss it. His love for gospel music began in the 90’s and he has been singing ever since.

In the past, Layton has performed country and gospel, but his focus is now on his gospel music. His love for gospel music began as he listened to Gaither Homecoming TV Shows in the 90’s. He loved singing with the bass singers. After attending Baxter School of Music, he was hooked on singing.

Layton has been entertaining for about 15 years. He has performed with various shows in Branson – Statler Brothers Revisited, Absolutely Country Definitely Gospel, The Blackwoods, and Abundance Quartet. The Abundance Quartet has performed at Silver Dollar City for the Southern Gospel Picnic four times. He has also sung with the River City Quartet. He performed for the Valley Star Awards in 2021 – when it was in the parking lot at Mission Bell. It was his first year in the Valley.

He has owned the Abundance Quartet since 2013. The Abundance Quartet does southern gospel music in four part harmony. They have traveled throughout the Midwest, covering about 14 states. The Quartet has traveled to the Rio Grande Valley three times, this year is marking their fourth trip to the Valley.

Abundance Quartet won the Gospel Group of the Year in 2024. He has been a part of the Vocal Group of the Year in Branson for the Terry Awards, sponsored by Terry Beene, as well. Jamie Layton himself is currently a nominee on the Valley Star Awards ballot.

The Abundance Quartet mainly performs in the Valley during January. Layton is also available as a solo act.
