buck hollow white webThe Buck Hollow Band, 2025 Duet Musical Group of the Year, will grace our stage at this year’s Valley Star Awards. Being winners in 2025, they were also nominated in 2024 and again this year. They were also inducted into the Midwest All-Music Association Hall of Fame in 2024. The duo is John and Teresa Condon. They play country and rock classics for various occasions including town celebrations, weddings, anniversaries, local wineries and bars.

Buck Hollow Band has been performing in the Valley Winter Texan community for four years. They have 35 years of experience though and have performed over 4,000 shows. The duo guarantees a fun and entertaining experience that will get people dancing.

Teresa plays bass guitar while John builds and plays his one-of-a-kind custom-built guitars, and they both sing. They use meticulously crafted drum tracks, created by John who is also a drummer. They also use no other back or karaoke tracks of any kind. They play their guitars and sing every note.

Their playlist includes legendary artists like Elvis Presley, Patsy Cline, The Beatles, Buddy Holly, Dwight Yoakum, Neal Diamond, Loretta Lynn, Jimmy Buffet, The Oak Ridge Boys, Dolly Parton, George Strait, Brooks and Dunn, Dire Straits, and the Georgia Satellites. The Buck Hollow Band focuses on getting people onto the dance floor and keeping them there. They only take short breaks after long sets to keep their crowd happy.

John can usually be seen playing one of his own guitar creations. He says he is not a luthier, but he knows just enough to construct playable props. He was a high school shop teacher for 20 years in Decorah, Iowa. He made his first guitar when a student wanted to make one for himself on a CNC router they had. He found a love making guitars and takes his motivation directly from bands like Cheap Trick, ZZ Top, and Prince – who all used unique and sometimes comical custom guitars.

You can find out more about The Buck Hollow Band on their website at www.buckhollowband.com, where you can find their schedule and more about John’s guitars. You can also stay up to date with them on Facebook.

We look forward to seeing what they bring to our stage on Wednesday, February 11.
