MHC to host McGrinch event at La Placita Park

The third annual McGrinch event hosted by the McAllen Heritage Center (MHC), McAllen’s museum of history and culture, will be held on Saturday, December 14 from 2 to 7 p.m. at La Placita Park, 301 S. Main St. McGrinch is a free, family event and will feature a meet and greet with the very friendly McGrinch. Free photos with McGrinch are welcome, so attendees can bring a cell phone or camera. There will be local vendors by STX Markets, holiday music, food vendors and free kids’ goody bags, while they last, which will make the event diverse, fun and exciting.
The Port Isabel Historical Museum will host a reception, screening and book signing for the award-winning Ancient Landscapes of South Texas: Hiding in Plain Sight exhibit, Thursday, December 12 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.
Fun and informative programs for all ages are being held at Bentsen-RGV State Park. Events are free with park admission.
The Mission Historical Museum is excited to announce the 19th Annual Quilt Show and is now accepting entries for this beloved community tradition. Quilt enthusiasts are invited to participate by submitting their best work in three categories: Bed Quilts, Wall Hangings, and Other.
The joy of giving can be found during any time you choose to give. But, during the holiday season, make that joy even brighter. It is a time when we get to really see the fruits of our labor.
