hfl 0945To keep some of Hidalgo’s tradition alive, the City of Hidalgo is excited to announce the launch of the 29th annual Hidalgo Festival of Lights “Season of Hope,” presented by Coca-Cola, as a drive-through experience at the Payne Arena in Hidalgo, Texas starting on Tuesday, Dec. 1.

With the global pandemic, the community’s daily living has had to adapt in order to protect the health and safety of those we are closest to. While we all are undergoing these challenging times, the Christmas holidays can offer a beacon of hope, which is why this year’s Festival of Lights will be themed “Season of Hope.” The City of Hidalgo wanted to ensure that people could celebrate holiday traditions in a safe manner and carry on the tradition of the Festival of Lights to hopefully offer hope and happiness to the families in the community.hfl 0905

The two-mile drive-through attraction will feature millions of lights, castles, tunnels and hundreds of illuminated displays. Santa’s magic portal, a 600-foot tunnel, will teleport guests from a butterfly garden to the Land of Make Believe. Christmas Land will be highlighted with a 40-foot Christmas tree and 16-foot Santa boots. On select days, Santa Claus will be there to greet everyone, with souvenir photos available from the comfort and safety of one’s vehicle.

Other attractions include a free drive-in cinema with holiday movies and drive-in concerts. Guests can purchase food, snacks and refreshments at the drive-in concessions.

The safety of everyone is paramount to the City of Hidalgo. That is why the city has worked diligently to ensure a safe and much needed family entertainment and all from the comfort of one’s vehicle.

The Festival of Lights “Season of Hope” starts on Tuesday, Dec. 1 and runs through Wednesday, Dec. 30. Tickets start at $20 per vehicle, plus applicable fees, and include a four-pack of 20 oz. Coca-Cola. Guests can purchase a Dash Pass for $40 and skip the lines. Tickets are available for purchase at hidalgofestivaloflights.com.
