The Food Bank RGV is proud to announce the opening of its new Mission Resource Center, a partnership with the City of Mission, which will serve as a comprehensive hub for social services, nutrition education, and food assistance for the community. The Center is located at the former Mission Food Pantry and will be open to the public for the first time on Thursday, March 2.
The Mission Resource Center is part of the Food Bank RGV's ongoing efforts to address food insecurity and related issues in the Rio Grande Valley. The Center will provide a variety of services and resources to those in need, including access to an emergency food pantry, nutrition education classes, social services, and a hub for those seeking volunteer opportunities.
"We are thrilled to open our new Mission Resource Center, which will provide a range of essential services to those in need, including an emergency food pantry, nutrition education classes, and access to social services team. The Center will also serve as a hub for those looking to volunteer and make a positive impact in our community," said Libby A. Saenz, CEO of the Food Bank RGV.
The ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony will take place on Thursday, March 2, at the Mission Resource Center. The event will begin at 9 a.m. and will feature local dignitaries, community leaders, and supporters of the Food Bank RGV.
"We invite the entire community to join us in celebrating the opening of the Mission Resource Center," said Saenz. "This Center represents a new chapter in the Food Bank RGV's ongoing efforts to fight hunger and provide support to our neighbors in need."
