The Dustin Michael Sekula Memorial Library is excited to invite the community to its annual Holly Jolly Winter Celebration on Thursday, December 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. This festive event will be held at the library, located at 1906 South Closner Blvd.
Attendees can look forward to a magical evening filled with family-friendly activities, games, and live Christmas caroling. A highlight of the event will be the chance for children to meet Santa, pose for photos, and deliver their letters directly to him.
The celebration will feature interactive booths hosted by several local organizations, including the Edinburg Fire Department, the Museum of South Texas History, Edinburg Scenic Wetlands and World Birding Center, and local children’s book authors. These booths are designed to engage and entertain visitors of all ages.

The 33rd Annual Ranch Hand Breakfast will be held on November 23. The event features an authentic, hearty cowboy breakfast cooked and served outdoors on the historic King Ranch. Team roping and old-time cow camp cooking demonstrations are a part of the activities, along with live music and storytelling.
Several cities and organizations will be having Veterans Day events this coming Veterans Day. There were a few cities like Brownsville and Edinburg that have already hosted their Veterans events, but there are a few more you can check out. Some RV parks will also be holding events, so check with your park to see if they are holding a special event recognizing the Veterans in your community.
The McAllen Wind Ensemble is excited to announce that its 2024-2025 concert season will be free to the public, thanks to the generous support of the McAllen Performing and Cultural Arts Foundation. The Foundation is committed to advancing and enhancing the performing arts and performing arts education in McAllen and throughout the Rio Grande Valley. After a historic season, celebrating its golden anniversary, the organization is excited for this new partnership to open up their concerts to even more people.
