FORT WORTH, TX – The National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame is pleased to announce it has created a digital tour guide to support touch-free interaction. This tour provides visitors the ability to access audio and images that they otherwise would not be able to view or hear. The tours include Top 10 Must See Artifacts, and guides for both first and second floors including the Hitting the Mark: Women and Wild West Shows Gallery and the It’s Never Just a Horse™ exhibition. The Museum saw the need to create this digital tour as some interactive exhibits remain closed for the safety of our visitors, and the guides provide a great alternative while the Museum cannot offer docent-guided tours. A companion outside tour of the new Alice Walton Cowgirl Park is also planned for the late summer.
This new tour is free and designed to be enjoyed by all ages. There are three ways to access the tour through QR codes, a URL link or a phone number. Any type of cellular device can be used for the tour. Tour stops are signified by signage throughout the Museum. The tour includes artifacts such as HBO’s blockbuster Game of Thrones’ Jon Snow saddle, Annie Oakley’s letters, the Hermès scarf collection, Mary Burger’s WNFR Championship spurs and more. The tour is powered by OnCell (soon to be STQRY). Data and messaging rates, depending on your carrier, may apply.
The Museum continues to practice safety and health guidelines:
• Masks are mandatory
• Contact-free guided digital tours
• Online ticketing or contact-free kiosk to purchase tickets onsite
• PPE cleaning materials, routine for disinfecting and protective sneeze guard
• Hand sanitizer stations and reminders to social distance, wash hands, etc.
• Some interactive exhibits will remain closed
• The Shop at The Cowgirl will be open with safety precautions
• First responders (medical, police, fire): Free with paid admission
Hours of operation have been adjusted to support disinfecting/cleaning efforts. Open Tuesday – Saturday: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and closed Sunday and Monday. Stay up to date through eBlasts, website announcements and social media (@cowgirlmuseum). For information on recommendations on the coronavirus, visit the CDC website.
