The Mercedes Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting their Annual Welcome Back Winter Texan Reception at the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Showgrounds Youth Center. The event will be held on Wednesday, December 1 from 4 to 6 p.m. Admission is free.

The Event has been hosted by the chamber for over 30 continuous years and has become a huge opportunity for the area businesses to thank and welcome back our Winter Texans to the Valley.

 

Door prizes, goodie bags, snacks and entertainment will be featured at the event. Music will be provided by Chris Marshall.

The chamber will also hold a Queen Bean Contest at the event. Cooking will consist of teams cooking hot – maybe spicy, maybe not – beans. The beans are cooked off site and will be judged at the event. Prizes will be awarded, and all beans will be shared at the event.
