South Pole Illuminated Festival webThe new South Pole Illuminated Festival is bringing back magical experiences for the holidays.

The McAllen Convention Center cordially invites the community to help kick-off the Christmas Season at the 9th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony taking place at the McAllen Convention Center Oval Park on Wednesday, December 1, starting at 5:30 p.m. Enjoy holiday musical performances right before the 64-foot, pre-lit Christmas tree will light up Oval Park, along with millions of lights that will be featured in South Pole Illuminated Festival.

During the month of December, South Pole Illuminated Festival will transform the McAllen Convention Center campus into an enchanting walking journey of dazzling lights, giant illuminated lanterns, recreated snowfall, stunning radiant tunnels, Santa’s Castle, a Holiday Fireworks Spectacular, Holiday Carnival, Gingerbread House decorating and much more.

The festival will also include live entertainment in the Holiday Tent with live performers and the Club Rudolf Laser Show, a musical water projection hologram show, and interactive photo ops throughout the McAllen Convention Center grounds.

The list of attractions does not stop there. The South Pole will feature South Pole Ice Skating experiences within the park, photos with Santa, train rides, and private South Pole Christmas parties. Guests will be able to enjoy their favorite treats at the Holiday Food Park and Hot Chocolate and S’mores Station.

The experience is set to begin November 24 – January 2. Tickets are available at southpoleoftexas.com or at McAllen Convention Center Box Office.

Giveaway chances are ready to kick off the South Pole Illuminated Festival. To enter, participants must decorate their home or office with all the Christmas cheer and post a photo online with #southpoleoftexas. Ticket winners will be selected daily to win a pair of tickets to the new South Pole Illuminated Festival.
