Internationally known as the “Voice of Aggieland,” The Singing Cadets are Texas A&M University’s premier men’s chorus. The 13th director of the 60-member men’s choral group, David L. Kipp, began his tenure with the group in the fall of 1995. Under his leadership the Singing Cadets are staying true to their crisp military style and diverse selection of music. At the performance, Cadets will perform American, military, sacred and Aggie themed numbers.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and the performance will start at 7 p.m. Seating is general admission and the cost for a ticket is a modest $12. Monies raised from the concert will go toward two university scholarships. One scholarship will be awarded to a music student at the University of Texas, Rio Grande Valley and the other scholarship is given to a deserving member of the Texas A&M Singing Cadets. Both of these scholarships are funded by the Senior Ambassadors, the host for this concert.

Tickets for the January 12 event can be purchased at Valley Keyboard, 900 Harvey, McAllen or at Coffee Zone Bistro, 1108 McColl Rd. in Edinburg and Coffee Zone Bistro, 701 E. Expressway 83, McAllen (Rio Bank building) or by calling Leonard at (956) 589-5274. Tickets are also available from any member of the Senior Ambassadors.

As one of the oldest collegiate singing organizations in the world, it has toured both in the United States and abroad on six continents in the last 20 years, and has earned recognition by doing so, including invitations to sing for many American presidents and prestigious concert venues.

This year, the Singing Cadets will celebrate its 130th anniversary by celebrating with a choir reunion of over 400 singers on the campus of Texas A&M University on April 6, 2024. For more information, contact Kipp by phone at (979) 845-5974 or by email at dkipp@tamu.edu.
