You have heard of the Kentucky Derby - well at Tropic Star RV Resort in Pharr, we have Donkey Races. On February 9th, over 175 residents enjoyed the antics of the six donkeys as they made their way around the track. Fran and Vicki Bautch have taken on the responsibility, for the past eight years, for training the donkeys to make sure they are prepared for their time in the spotlight. Nancy Fischer stated, “There is nothing better than a room full of residents having a rip-roaring good time.” The donkeys will race one more time this season before they are put out to pasture for a well-deserved rest.
