ARVP Expo Vision Screening webTo introduce Winter Texans to some of the top businesses and health experts in the Valley, Dennis and Barb Zanetti are again organizing a unique and popular Expo at Alamo Palms Resort. The doors will open at 10 a.m. and close at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 21.

“This Winter Texan project is like a human Rolodex of our favorite business professionals and health experts in up to 50 categories,” Barb says. “We feel honored to recommend them – our favorites from Brownsville to Mission. We trust them. They’re simply the best.”

When the Michigan couple came to the Valley 10 years ago, she said they had no idea who to trust with their health or other needs.

“We needed help!” she says. “It was disheartening when I was handed 12 businesses cards.

“Then when I asked which one was best, they said they had ‘no idea’. Even knowing which business I should avoid would have been helpful.”

Five years later, the Expo idea was born. And year after year Winter Texan attendance has grown.

“What’s best about Alamo Palms Resort’s Expo is that it takes the guesswork out of finding someone for a specific job,” Winter Texan Susie Bentz says. “These pros have been recommended by Winter Texans for Winter Texans. … Plus, the food is always really good.”

The Zanetti’s favorite restaurants will be serving brunch: Nana’s Taqueria (lonches), Willie’s Original BBQ (brisket sandwiches), CoffeeTime (protein shakes), Manjar Bakery (apple fritters and donuts), and more.

Another highlight of this unusual Expo is that the Winter Texan Park with the most attendees (by percentage) will be awarded a high-end RC car. In addition, many businesses will offer exciting giveaways. These drawings will be held at the end of the Expo, with the winners’ list sent to their respective parks.

Other special features of this year’s Expo include taking photos with Colair’s “Ruben,” bringing your laptop to have it diagnosed, and having your old photos professionally restored, as well as getting vision screenings, massages, health hints, fingernail painting, and mobile home showings … plus, so much more!

“It’s bound to be a great Expo,” Dennis says. “Bring your Winter Texan friends and neighbors …. and come hungry.”
