VP Tech Center makes impact on residents, community

One of the many activities at Victoria Palms RV Resort is the Tech Center. The Victoria Palms Tech Center has been making quite the impact on its residents and the community lately.
The Tech Center is staffed by over 15 volunteers on weekdays during the Winter Texan season. They provide technical help to residents with their cell phones, tablets, iPads, laptops, and desktop PC’s.

Three male vocalists are getting together to perform a free Country Gospel Benefit Concert next weekend. The Wintertainers™ will be performing to raise funds for the His Hands Ministries in Penitas. The men performing will be Curt James, Rick McEwen and Rusty Rierson.
Palm Shadows Mobile Home and RV Resort will hold their annual drama and dessert production. This year’s production, slated for Saturday, March 8, will be “Shenanigans at the Blue Pelican Inn.”
Kris Kowalski got a hole in one at La Floresta RV Park in Mercedes on February 11 on the 86-yard hole #2. Everyone that wants to participate in a chance to win some money on a hole in one puts in $1. Kris won $59 and a trophy that was presented by Rodger Vanderville. Congratulations! Submitted by Darla Strait.
The Upper Valley Art League is ready for their annual showcase. Titled “Journey Through the Lens,” this year’s exhibition will showcase various styles of photography ranging from traditional, digital, and mobile created by UVAL members.
It was dance time with the 70 plus musicians McAllen Wind Ensemble's February 18 concert as three of the numbers included performances by The Debra Case Dance Academy members. The music director was Roger Olivarez for the free "Let's Dance" concert at the McAllen Performing Arts Center. 
Quinta Mazatlán is excited to welcome, Nick Morales, resident geologist of South Texas and Northern Mexico specializing in mineralogy, local geology and lithic (stone) artifacts, Thursday March 6, 6 to 7 p.m. for a presentation centering on how geology influenced the manufacturing of lithic tools in South Texas and Northern Mexico and how they are identified and used.
