Fiesta de Palmas this weekend

20221019 fiesta de palmas webThe 16th Annual 2022 Fiesta de Palmas is set for this weekend, October 21st through 23rd, and promises to be the biggest Fiesta yet.

The event is to be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the McAllen Convention Center and will feature a hefty line up of live music, carnival rides, diverse foods, and interactive activities.

Bullock Museum celebrates traditional dresses of Mexico with new exhibit

20220927 Bullock Museum DressHilos de Tradición: Dresses of Mexico, an exhibition created in collaboration with the Brownsville Historical Association, opens at the Bullock Texas State History Museum this Saturday, October 1. The exhibition is presented in Spanish and English and features outfits that represent the traditional textiles, art, dance, and culture of every state of Mexico.

The American Red Cross, Texas Gulf Coast Region, invites you to join their team as a part of the Be One, Bring One campaign as the need for compassionate volunteers has never been greater. You can use your professional skills as a licensed healthcare or licensed mental health provider and volunteer to deliver hands-on care or mental health support to those in need. Free online training is provided, and you can earn continuing education hours. Apply today to become a Disaster Health Services or Disaster Mental Health Professional volunteer so those in need don’t have to face tough times alone.
