Hello and welcome back to South Texas! We are so excited that you have come back to visit us. If you are new to the Valley – you are in for a treat.
The Rio Grande Valley is such a great place to be – we say it every year. Great weather, great people, and great friends. I am looking forward to the cooler temperatures, of which we have had a bit of a taste this week. It helps encourage us to be outside a bit more than usual and it’s just the right time for everyone to make their return to the Valley – especially since we are saying goodbye to those hot temperatures that aren’t that nice.





The Lipan Apache Tribe of Texas invites you to their 53rd Annual DAKEE SI (Fall Gathering) Lipan Apache Tribe of Texas Pow Wow on Saturday, October 28, from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Alton Community Center, 349 Dawes Ave. in Alton. Dancing and presentations will be held throughout the day. The event is free.
Two of the nation’s fastest growing sports are coming to Mission by way of a new sports complex.
The Rio Grande Valley Woodcarvers have begun 2023-2024 seasonal meetings. The woodcarvers are meeting at the Nomad Shrine Club, 1044 W. Nolana Blvd., in Pharr.
The City of Mission recently unveiled its newest initiative, the Community Tool Shed, which will provide free access to a wide range of tools for the community. Tools available include lawnmowers, hand tools, shovels, trimmers, garden rakes, and more. This unique project aims to foster community collaboration, benefit residents who lack access to essential equipment, and contribute to the cleanliness and beauty of the city.
