La Plaza Mall partners with Food Bank

Looking to beat the heat inside while giving back to the community? La Plaza Mall invites guests to let their artistic side run wild at the Paint Party benefitting the Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley. On Saturday, July 9th from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. visitors can get their creative juices flowing while supplying the Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley with bowls for their annual Empty Bowls fundraiser.

The International Museum of Art & Science (IMAS) presents an exhibition curated by UTRGV MFA Alumnae Cristina Correa and Fatima Lai presenting works by high school art students from IDEA Public Schools San Juan and Brownsville ISD’s Rivera High School. The exhibit entitled Student Crossroads: Contemplating Uncovered Spaces will be exhibited at the IMAS through July 10.
The Port Isabel is bringing back a tradition that was started in 2004 – Movies at the Lighthouse. Movies will be projected on the side of the historical Port Isabel Lighthouse. No admission fee, Concessions will be available. The lighthouse will be open until 9 p.m. for tours (tours do have an admission). Movies start at 9 p.m.
Join Quinta Mazatlan for a fun, mindful outdoor Yoga Play in the Park with Music and Craft Activities for all ages on Thursday, June 9th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Bring yoga mats or towels, and get ready to become one with nature through yoga, meditation and singing bowls.
