Now through January 1 – The cottages of Holiday Village in Brownsville will be on display. The display features 34 fully decorated cottages at Dean Porter Park. Admission is free all day every day, and the cottages are lit at 6 p.m. each evening. Santa Claus will be in the gazebo and available for free pictures every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night through December 23. Now through January 1 – Hidalgo hosts their Festival of Lights. The hours of operation are 6 to 10 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and Sunday, and 6 to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Now through January 7 – Bishop Emeritus Raymundo Peña Nativity Scene Collection is on display at Museum of South Texas History. MOSTH is located downtown Edinburg at 200 North Closner Boulevard on the Hidalgo County Courthouse square. For more information call (956) 383-6911.

December 20 – Join the Valley Voices Choir as they perform The Glory of Christmas, Celebrating Christ’s Birth, at their 10th annual Christmas Concert. The concert will be held at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 South Longoria St., in Port Isabel, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 each. December 21 – RESCHEDULED TO JANUARY PSJA Memorial Early College High School will have their performance of 9 to 5, the Musical, at 7 p.m. Admission is $10. It will be held at the Roberto Gomez, Jr. Performing Arts Center, 800 S. Alamo Rd., in Alamo.

December 23 – The Brownsville Farmers Market will be held at 9 a.m. at Linear Park, E. 6th St. and E. Ringgold St. The event is held every Saturday.

December 23 – Firemen’s Park in McAllen will host the Growing Growers Farmers Market at 9 a.m. The park is located at 201 N. 1st St. The event is held every Saturday.

December 23 – The City of Primera will hold their Second Annual Winter Festival from 12 to 8 p.m. at 22893 Stuart Place Rd. There will be an artificial ice rink, mobile curling, polar golf, toboggan tunnel, live music, food trucks and more. Call (956) 423-9654 for more information.

January 12 – The Senior Ambassadors will welcome the Texas A&M Singing Cadets to the Rio Grande Valley for a performance at the Center Church (formerly Trinity Worship Center), located at 4801 N. Cage Blvd., in Pharr. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the performance will start at 7 p.m. Seating is general admission and the cost for a ticket is a modest $12. Monies raised from the concert will go toward two university scholarships. Tickets can be purchased at Valley Keyboard, 900 Harvey, McAllen or at Coffee Zone Bistro, 1108 McColl Rd. in Edinburg and Coffee Zone Bistro, 701 E. Expressway 83, McAllen (Rio Bank building) or by calling Leonard at (956) 589-5274. Tickets are also available from any member of the Senior Ambassadors.
