It was an exciting week this past week. We held the Valley Star Awards, and it was a great event, as always. The attendees and Wintertainers™ all had fun. We always look forward to the show. We look forward to being with the Wintertainers™ and also with our readers. It’s a chance for us to mingle, talk to old friends, and make some new friends. And it also gives our readers some time to spend with the Wintertainers™ that attend, and possibly see some entertainment that they haven’t yet seen this season.

IMAS presents a celebration of the piñata tradition

IMAS Ramirez Portrait Piñatabstract PRINTA dynamic and bold exploration of the piñata tradition is coming to McAllen this February. The International Museum of Art & Science (IMAS) presents Piñatabstract, a solo exhibition by multidisciplinary artist Josué Rawmirez, running from February 14 through July 26. The exhibit offers a unique presentation of the piñata through craft, performance, and new media, transforming a beloved cultural icon into innovative works of art.

Winterhaven celebrates USAs 250th

Winterhaven Celebrating USAs 250th BDay IMG 0259 webAt Winterhaven Resort there was a party held to beat all parties On Monday, February 2, 185 people attended this party in festive patriotic clothing and costumes, ate potluck food, danced to Winterhaven’s own Jammers and had more fun than two barrels of monkeys.

Kansans celebrate … Kansas

Kansas Day 1 webOn Tuesday, January 27, 108 Kansans from all over the Rio Grande Valley met for lunch to commemorate the anniversary of the state’s January 29, 1861, admission to the Union. It was so great that 43 Kansans joined the group for the first time.
