The Rio Grande Valley, as do many areas across the country, go out of their way to pay tribute to Veterans on, or around, Veterans Day. Veterans Day honors all who have served in the United States Armed Forces acknowledging their sacrifice, courage, and dedication to the country.
The McAllen Wind Ensemble proudly opens its 2025–2026 concert season with “Duty, Honor, Country,” a powerful evening dedicated to the courage, sacrifice, and service of the men and women who defend our freedom. The concert will take place on Tuesday, November 11, at 7:30 p.m. at the McAllen Performing Arts Center.
It’s senior slow pitch softball time again in the RGV. The RGV (previously Ed Marten’s) Senior Texan Softball League is back for its 31st year. The league is open to all local Texans as well as Winter Texan senior men and women aged 55 years and older. The youngest player last year was 57 and the most experienced player was 85. Last year over 110 seniors played in the league and this year they hope to top that.
