Newmann, Jack Green, Claude Gray, Les Gilliam and many others.

They have become favorites of fans of the Midwest Country Show, seen nationwide on RFD-TV, and have performed in Branson at RFD-TV, and in Silver Dollar City.

Roger Kenaston began playing rhythm guitar as a youngster behind his fiddle-playing father and quickly advanced to playing lead guitar in the family band. His style came from many different influences over his career, including the Bakersfield sound of Buck Owens and Don Rich, the rockabilly of Carl Perkins, the finger picking of Merle Travis, and the flat-picking of Doc Watson.

Along the way, he became an award-winning fiddle player, mandolin picker, dobro player, lap steel player and vocalist. He has played with some of Nashville’s top artists, and has hosted several events that promote traditional country music and dancing. He has been seen singing, guitar picking and playing the dobro on RFD-TV’s Midwest Country Theater. The band has made several appearances on the show and is scheduled to record additional segments in 2012.

Sharon Kenaston, Roger’s wife, began singing in church and school when she was very young.  She has always possessed a very strong voice and a love for Traditional Country Music. Sharon and Roger are members of the National Traditional Country Music Hall of Fame. Sharon has won numerous awards for her vocals including, Nebraska State Female Singer, National Country Music Contest Female Singer, International Traditional Country Music Female Singer as well as many other awards for her harmony work with the group. She plays bass or rhythm guitar for the band and also sits behind the drums during the trumpet tunes. She is an avid promoter of Traditional Country Music and Dancing. Along with her family, she hosts the Wahoo Country Music Show in Wahoo, Nebraska, now in its 15th year. She’s also the director of the Traditional Country Music and Dance Association. She’s been performing for over 25 years.

Jerry Neeman is a retired high school band director, spending 32 years as a teacher in central Nebraska. He began playing the trumpet when he was young and excels in all types of brass and wind instruments. He plays drums for the Roger Kenaston Band and is also a very talented slide guitar player. His classic trumpet tunes offer a nice variety to any show when tunes like “In The Mood,” “When The Saints Go Marching In,” or “You Are My Sunshine” are featured. He is the only brass instrumentalist who is a member of the National Traditional Country Music Hall of Fame. He’s been playing music with Roger Kenaston for over 34 years and that professional experience is apparent when they perform together.

Dave Elifrits recently retired after 26 years of serving in the United States Air Force.  While on duty early in his career, Dave spent time at Offutt Air Force Base outside Omaha, NE. While in Nebraska he attended a music festival in Fremont where he met the Kenaston Family. A life-long musical friendship was born. He took leave during his favorite Midwest festivals and played with the band whenever possible. A prolific songwriter, his original tunes are often included in shows or dances. Dave plays several instruments, including rhythm guitar, fiddle, harmonica, mandolin, and he steps in to pick lead guitar from time to time as well. Dave, along with Roger and Sharon, started a recording studio in Lyons, Nebraska.
